Sud Osento is a beach located in the province of Chieti. The sandy shore is initially pebbly near the mouth of the river, but gradually becomes sandy. This is a short stretch of residual dune vegetation and a former pinewood public park strip, which unfortunately was subject to fire on 23.07.2007. Access to the area is possible through the pedestrian road network in the former pinewood area and under the railway axes. Visitors can enjoy the two shady establishments, two campsites and a tourist village. This is also a disused railway track which has a project for a cycle track. There are no specific activities available at the beach. It is a flat sedimentary area with gentle hills behind it. The area has a scarce level of human activity, consisting mainly of isolated buildings of agricultural origin that are partly used as second homes. The river mouth has banks and weirs.
