The Consorzio di Bonifica della Romagna guarantees that the canal will not dispose of water into the sea during the bathing season. In case of exceptional rainfall or heavy storms, which require the closure of the Vinciane Gates on the Canal Harbour of Cesenatico, the Consortium can open the gates of the by-pass, but the Municipality of Cesenatico receives a prior notice to manage the event appropriately with appropriate Mayoral orders.
